Similar to some of our other micro entrepreneurs, 22-years old Angelie lives in Olongapo, the largest Filipino city close to Subic Bay. Angelie lives there with her husband and four children, who are aged between 1 – 6 years. At the moment, Angelie rents a small street stall for clothes for approximately 40€ in a large market area with which she makes circa 30€ a week. For an additional income, the young mother would like to rent stalls close-by and hire sales employees. Additionally, she would like her products to be available on Facebook.
Her clients are diverse – it’s not just daily visitors of the market but also friends, who repeatedly buy her products. Angelie receives the clothes from Manila, the capital of the Philippines which is a 5-6 hours drive from Olongapo.
Together with her husband, who works four days a week as a driver, the street stall sustains her family. With a small micro credit, the 22-year old mother of four would like to fulfil her dream of running an online shop and expanding her street stall in order to allow her children a better education, better nutrition and a more pleasant home.
